If you’re thinking about joining us at The Space for a class or course, the first thing you need to do is create an account. This is quick, simple and means when you arrive at the studio for the first time, all you need to do is check in at the front desk and let us show you around.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Your First Class

  • Please book online to secure your spot on the mat.
  • Arrive 10-15 minutes before the class start time
  • Avoid eating a big meal 2-3 hours before class
  • We have all the equipment you will need to practise with us at The Space
  • Yoga is practiced barefoot so there’s no need for special socks or shoes. Your welcome to leave your shoes on the racks provided outside the door. We recommend wearing clothes that you can easily bend and stretch in, but avoid anything baggy. You might like to wear leggings or tracksuit bottoms and a fitted tee.
  • Let your teacher know if you have an illness, injury or any medical conditions before the class begins

The hardest part of class is actually showing up to class. Going to Yoga for the first time can be intimidating but we can assure you there is really nothing to worry about. There is no problem with resting or skipping a few postures if you need to and our teachers encourage that. Take it easy in your first few classes. Our warm and friendly teachers will look after you, ensuring you learn safely and guiding you into the best alignment for your body. Everybody has different, frames and everybody will look different in the postures and we encourage you to honour your body by taking the options that suit you.

Be warned – once you start on this journey things will change! Expect to feel a slowing down of thoughts and a heightened awareness of your body and how it connects with your mind.

With regular practice you will start to notice many positive changes in all aspects of your life!
